What are the Top 3 Sub Compact SUVs?

overview

As time passes, the popularity of SUVs isn’t dwindling in the slightest bit. Consumers are realizing the value in having a vehicle that is not only capable, but also practical for daily living. We have found a pattern in purchasing behavior that leans towards the need for a subcompact SUV. Subcompact SUVs have the luxury of being small enough to be fuel efficient and practical, while also being big enough to fit a small family without the need for a third row and still having ample cargo space. We have put together a list of the top 3 subcompact SUVs that we believe are the perfect SUVs for our customers!

Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V is continuously commended with a lot of awards for being a great sub-compact SUV. Something that really sets it apart from the other SUVs is a tremendous amount of cargo space. You can find cargo space to be anywhere from 37.6 to 39.2 cu-ft and up to 75.8 cu-ft with the seats down! If we are adding to its interior appeal, you’ll be happy to know that it does come with some excellent seat room and an upscale interior cabin for an appealing ride. When you are driving this beauty down the road, you get a perfect balance of agility and comfort. With performance in mind, you’ll be happy to learn that this SUV delivers 28 MPG in the city and 34 on the highway. All this performance is sponsored by a FWD drivetrain powered by a 1.5L 4 cylinder engine!

Hyundai Tucson

The reason why the Hyundai Tucson has made it into our top list because it is a sub-compact SUV that is incredibly practical with a comfortable interior and plenty of technology. For starters, this SUV has a nicer interior comparable to the other interiors in its class. The cargo space in the Tucson is about 31 cu-ft. and 69 cu-ft. with the seats folded down. So, you are losing some cargo space in comparison to the CR-V, but you are getting a much nicer interior. Now when discussing performance, the Tucson does come standard with a 164 horsepower four-cylinder engine, but for added performance you can upgrade to a 181 horsepower version. The standard engine does give you up to 23 MPG in the city and 28 on the highway.

Jeep Cherokee

Last on our short list of the top subcompact SUVs is the Jeep Cherokee. We thought that this SUV was a good addition to the list because it not only fits the profile, but it also has the capability of going off-road given its nameplate. In addition to having a first-rate cabin interior, the Cherokee does come standard with a 7” infotainment screen that is extremely intuitive to use especially with the standard Android Auto and Apple Carplay. You do get a little less cargo space sitting at 25.8 cu-ft. and 54.7 cu-ft. with the seats down. The performance rating on this SUV relies on a 2.4L four-cylinder engine. That engine will provide up to 22 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway.
